Our missions on trips have the same purpose and goal as our church home has, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and to make disciples.
We pray about the opportunities and seek three areas before partnering:
- There has to be a church to follow up in discipleship within the areas we go to.
- The area has to be unreached or have a very low concentration of Christians.
- We never share and simply leave, but always desire the opportunity to return to encourage our newfound brothers and sisters in Christ as well as help support the church we partner with.
Montreal Canada (2016-2020)
Our current partnership through The North American Mission Board with Renaissance Church in Little Burgandy, Montreal is a vastly different one. We financially partnered with the church as well as take trips to Montreal to assist in a variety of ways mostly through building relationships and having gospel conversations with the wonderful people of this great city. We began this partnership through our Pastor taking a vision trip with our Florida Baptist Convention and look forward to what God is doing and will do in Montreal.
Costa Rica Trip (2012-2018)
We have had the opportunity to serve in Costa Rica through short-term mission trips for six years and will continue to walk alongside Casa de Oracion y Alabanza. These experiences have been both rewarding and life-changing. In our time in Costa Rica, working in Ciudad Neily, a relationship has been built Casa de Oracion y Alabanza and Pastor Christian Espinoza and his wife Maegan and the their girls. Through these trips, our missionaries get to be engulfed in the Costa Rican culture and serve alongside the members of the church. The opportunities and ministries that we have had the privilege of serving in include neighborhood parties, English classes, Kid’s clubs, local school activities, and evangelism in the communities. Come and join us in an incredible opportunity to serve God, serve the church, and serve the people of Costa Rica.
Honduras Trip (2008-2014)
New Oak Grove partnered with International Mission Builders from Macclenny, FL to send mission teams to Honduras. These teams were the first international mission teams sent from New Oak Grove. The missions varied from construction of new churches, repairing orphanages, Vacation Bible Schools in the villages, and most important following up in discipleship with visiting the churches which we had helped with the buildings. It was through numerous trips that we developed relationships and saw God bless the work in this wonderful country.
Louisiana Trip (2012-2014)
New Oak Grove partnered with First Baptist Church of Grand Isle through a relationship that began in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Through four trips and financial support we were able to rejoice with the people of Grand Isle as they rebuilt their lives and also were able to aid the launch of their mission church Cross Point up the bayou.
